Live and laugh

Have hope, be strong,live life,dream big,laugh loud and be happy.this are some of the words most of you would encourage someone with. there are so many things to be happy about and so don’t let small things steal your happiness.

be happy because at least you have made some progress in your life, however small it may be. At least you aren’t the same person you were yesterday. My grandmother tells us to (read hard and get to where others have never been) She would say; ‘muthome mukinye haria angi matangikinya’. Many are the times i really wondered especially when i would really not perform well in school of the significance of her words. Is there a level janice would get that no one had ever been? those words keep ringing back in my mind every now and then. Over and above that i have learnt that nothing can really stop me from achieving my dreams. Granny chose to be happy so who am i…..

At times we would go visit her and she was very happy to see us all and her happiness wasn’t a pretence.in vernacular we would say ‘ngenete gikeno gitari gia gwekenithia” i don’t know how rightly spelt that is but all in all i have learnt so much from this lady and i will forever be grateful.

The fact that you are in school today, its progress so be happy, you are a day older,that’s progress too.. At times we dream so big and we want BIG houses, you know one of those houses you would do a video in or photography and one would think its one big hotel ..hhe anyway its good to dream but don’t let your dream chasing hinder you from being happy..i mean you only know about this minute, you don’t know about the next minute.

Don’t say that you will be happy when you buy a car, or when you get married, or when you get a 6 digit paying job or when you get to travel oversees etc..live and laugh now that you have the chance.

There is a quote that says that keep smiling and maybe one day life will get tired of upsetting you. life is a progression, just the other day toys filled your mamas house, today its a whole pile of books to read or movies to watch or very loud music every weekend.. you see! its all about progress so live life and laugh for better days will come and when they do keep the smile.

Below is a short piece to end your Friday.

 

So much can change in a flip of a second btw. You are the one person people look up to but boy, life may be kicking you hard in the inside. Yes , you wear that smile but so much in you has been ripped into pieces and nothing makes sense at all.  Whether you have lost a baby or trusting God for one, lost a loved one,a friendship gone bad, been through a heart break,dealing with a bad boss, lost a job or expecting one, in a huge debt, or battling a court case e.t.c Child! No wind is permanent!

 

Remember when the Children of Israel were taken to Babylon, God had planned it that they would be in captivity for 70 years but the best part of it is that God had promised to ransom them from their enemies. You see when Nebuchaddnezzar took over Jerusalem and took them captive to Babylon this prophecies began to crystallise but in the midst of their dispersions, God was working something greater for them. “To get them out of captivity”

 

I’m at a season where my friends and family are all trusting God for something and the other day i thought to myself.. what if this is it? maybe this is how God wants it.. will it ever end? does it have to be this painful and draining? but then the above excerpt came to mind.. that everything is just a wind.. it will either blow you down or propel you to another level. so child,  just wait!

 

The truth is, the  Clock of God is the best, He knows the future and He will sure take the victory. You see, the winds of life are a total distractions to us so we can be quick to hear them and let them move us rather than let them pass and hear God in the midst of it. But the devil is a liar. John says that He comes to Kill, to steal and destroy and so don’t give him the chance. God is rooting for our faith and nothing will stop Him. He is God!

So will you pass this test of fire?

“The Wounded Soldier”

Goodafternoon: Blog post is finally up!

Like a soldier in a battle field, all of us get injured at some point and the injury at times can sabotage our christian lives. In our christian history, our Lord Jesus Christ was most wounded prior and during his crucifixion: the crown of thorns, the strokes, the nail wounds on his hands,feet and the piercings he got.  This  means that at times we aren’t exempt from wounds, the only way out is to learn to heal our wounds as fast to avoid them becoming cancerous.

In the life of  a christian, one can walk with a lot of battle scars, snake bites, broken hearts which invoke excruciating pain in their lives.  This can be through loosing a loved one, mistakes, broken marriages,rejection, betrayal etc.With the few interactions i have made with Christians, i have come across many of them carrying a wounded spirit because something happened in their lives that has knocked them back and from and they have been unable to rise above again.

The truth is the devil rejoices in such kind of wounds so that he can strangle your future with deceit and cause stagnation in your life. John 10:10 says that he can to kill, to steal and to destroy so he will not sleep until he devours the sheep of Jesus Christ.We can handle all kinds of physical affliction but when our spirit is wounded, then experiencing the fullness of the Holy spirit is difficult.

 

There are various wounds a christian can have:

• Words

Proverbs 18:21 says death and life are in the power of the tongue. You see,  our words harbor good or bad, hate or love, peace or tension and therefore whatever we speak  can lead to various results.  I have come across a young person who totally refused to join a fellowship simply because a fellow christian poured out discouraging messages to them. It means that words can penetrate very deeply in our spirits.

• Mistakes

When i think of these, i think of David because he is a man who made mistakes but in the end the Lord still called him a man after His own heart. It therefore means that yes we can make mistakes and it can be a wound that can be painful for us to bear.  Last week i got to come across a text on whatsapp that was being circulated after the young lady had already passed on and concerned the life she lived and the mistakes she had made when alive.  Well, as much as the young lady had made the mistake maybe, the timing and the phrasing of the text was all wrong, insensitive and inappropriate.

Sexual sin is also another wound perhaps the breeder of all wounds in  human relationships and that is why the Bible warns against it and asks us to flee from it since it can have dire consequences (1 Corinthians 6:18). David was a victim of a wounded spirit as a result of his adultery with Bathsheba something that took hold of his generation with his son raping his daughter Tamar and resulted to murder……the story can go on and on.

• Rejection

The famous vernacular show “Muigwithania” hosted by Gathoni Wamuchomba at a vernacular radio station is one that has helped families reconcile back with their loved ones especially family members that have been rejected by the community or their own families as well.

• Unforgiveness and Betrayal

Joseph is one man who was betrayed by his very own brothers after they were jealous of him and sold him to slavery in Egypt. I can only imagine the bitterness Joseph held for his brothers after this but still even after they went to fetch for food in Egypt he still withheld himself from revenge and decided to forgive them.

The list can go on and on but for today lets stop here,,,Part 2 might just pop up!

In conclusion, it is worth realizing that God is incredible at healing, but He can’t do it alone – He needs our permission, our prayer, our will, and our discipline in reining ourselves in.We are all walking wounded. But there’s opportunity buried under those scars. Opportunity for new life on Earth and for eternal life. But you have to believe that a visit to the Great Doctor will help you experience the future in the healthy way.

Beautiful times: Photography – aha! moments

This is one of the blogs I have been looking up to post this past week………..our  journey started at around 1 pm on Sunday afternoon. It is actually interesting to post this but Hi!  , the road trip was worth it, (but long though).. Well, most of us weren’t on time as agreed,,oh! this is just Africa or should we call them “African timers“……but we still got to Machakos County in good time. Far from the Oldonyo Sabuk i have known since i was a little girl, i got to know of  Sapuk Resort on this day, our shoot venue.

 

Our journey and stay at Sapuk Resort was full of giggle sessions with the love milifam photographers. I’m actually surprised that we got all this captions that day. I should say that all these years i thought the resort and the park were both located in Thika, Kiambu County, only to realize that they are located in Machakos County.

You will triumph….

It has been a long day in the busy streets of Nairobi, getting from one office to another looking for a job. She boards a matatu back home and starts to reflect on the day that was…It has been one year since she graduated from college..she remembers her young siblings in the house who are eagerly waiting for a “tamu” or a sweet when she gets home but all  she got today is  just her  fare back home and no cents for the goodies… she is already getting tired of asking her parents for cash every single day.. by now she thought she would be working and with a good paying job but its not the case … She remembers of the many years she served the Lord in her school years and of how confident she was of her future being better and the blessings of the Lord that addeth no sorrow being a part and parcel of her life…well! its not the case now!

She alights the bus and quickly heads home,lucky that her siblings had fallen asleep, she heads to her room and locks the door and lays on her bed.. She cant understand why life seems so hard..nothing at all is coming through….She begins to question God..Why me? She begins to sob and starts to remind God on His promises on why she was this frustrated yet the Lord “claimed” to be  the owner of Silver and Gold,, Romans 8:28  her favorite verse which says that everything worketh for good to those who love the Lord….(dint make sense then) and she begins to doubt the meaning of all this things she has believed for such a long time..

She is very bitter today, she cant help but cry all this time …..no answers, everything is quiet, her parents and siblings have fallen asleep arleady ,only the four walls in her room lay blank and ignorant of her situation…………………’sobs’ ‘sobs’ ‘sobs’ sobs sobs….hours later she falls asleep………………………….

Well, dear ones , most or some of us will identify with this story.. it doesn’t have to be the same but you might be facing a mountain in your life either in your job,school, home,church fellowship, relationship, marriage among others but i’m here to remind you just a few things. The other day someone said to me this,

“your promised land has giants and walls but if you are thinking small and afraid. you will go back to captivity.” This made a lot of sense..

The best example is that of our Lord Jesus Christ , when he knew the burden he carried of  human kind he began to rethink on his great task..(to save mankind)  Mathew 26;36-46,,at the garden of Gethsemane he began to ask the lord to take away the cup since it was too much to bear but hi,,this never happened …you know why ? because the will of God had to be fulfilled…The truth is  sometimes we go through a tragedy/ tribulation and we begin to doubt God but the good news is that you will always triumph,,, Paul in 2nd corinthians 12 talks of the thorn in his flesh that which he had prayed to the lord to take away from him thrice but the lord reminded him that

” My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weaknesses…”

Job refused to give up and choose to rejoice in the Lord in his suffering and in the end the lord moved on his behalf,, he surely triumphed the test of times which you an i would probably have failed.

You see child of God, many are the tests or the giants or walls you will come across in your success journey ,some of which have been placed there to propel you to another level so don’t just seat there and wallow at your situation..believe God in something greater and i tell you tomorrow you will wear a big smile.. God has Good News for you.. just believe in his promises and he will give you rest..Keep praying because prayer gives you access to what the Lord has promised you and for sure YOU WILL TRIUMPH!

LET IT GO ….

Hallo there.. Another one for you from my heart… ♥… Well, everything I write is literally out of my day to day life and it’s experiences both from self and friends.. I actually write my mind.. I’m quite an all rounded person at times.. I can be super quiet and the next hour I am the loudest one in the room with crazy laughs and stories…. I really enjoy it that way.. (I’m  very versatile)… I have no favorite food, favorite song, favorite joint.. Hihi.. I like trying everything.. 😂

Anyway, LET IT GO  is inspired by how I have seen people or I ,at times holding on to bitterness, unforgiveness, resentment,  among others..  It’s until lately I realised that 80 %  of humans live a life of ‘victimisation ‘ Always trying to be what suits other people , our family and we end up never being ourselves.. Or just holding on to what causes us pain the more..

You see many are the times we become “Victims ” to all this things in life yet if we decided or resolved to live fully understanding how much potential we got if only we let go of some of the things we hold on… Then Freedom would take the best of us.

Dr Wayne W Dyer in his book “Pulling your own strings “ states on our emotional capabilities.. “You have just as much of inherent capacity for emotional genius as you do for physical and mental excellence. Once again it all depends on what kind of expectations you have for yourself. If you expect to be depressed, anxious, afraid, angry, guilty, worried, or to suffer then these conditions will be regular parts of your life.. ”

Well holding on will always leave you hurt and never moving on,the best you can do is Let Go….. Let God be… God wants to be Free and free indeed so Let It Go and begin living a fulfilled life.

Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness, And rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19 (NKJV)

RELATIONSHIP

I haven’t blogged in months!! To be honest, I haven’t been idle,just busy with school… 😂 It’s really not a reason though, but I have learnt so much and written so much as well and I’m excited to share with you soon..

Far from that I’m a big procastinator 😀 but it has  also been a weakness that I have been working on.. (Trust me I am a big one on this! ) But I’m encouraged by  Ecclesiastes 3:1 That God makes everything beautiful at His own time…. So no worries 👌

I have realised that every word  I learnt before, that probably never made sense then,keeps getting dymistified every time I reread the message.

So let me get back to the topic… (Relationship).. You are probably asking yourself the “same same TOPIC again!”…. 😂… Trust me you will learn from it.. Well I hope God helps you to understand it. It’s a topic viewed on a broader perspective…..It is both sided… Relating to both male or female.

This is a topic that will never get extinct in our  present generation..Well, the other day I went to DOZ  and saw this whole topic in a different way than I have before.  A certain mystique still surrounds the topic not until you open up your mind and heart and let God teach you.

So what is a relationship ? At least google defines it as a state of being connected either to a person, an object, a pet etc .

A relationship is always mutual and you got to have your half to give and the other person another half to give as well…it is never about Giviiiiiinnnnngggg…….!  No!  It is a give and take.

Many Christians haven’t understood that not every born again lady or gentleman in your school, church, fellowship, cell group  qualifies to be your friend. Hmmmmm… I see Christians rushing to befriend (brethrens)  and the relationship doesn’t sail far simply because they rushed it..

“Learn to choose your friends with a toothpick not a rake “👍

Amos 3:3  says that two can’t walk together unless they agree..

You need( particular) people in your life not just people.

You need encouragers not discouragers

You need inspires not insighters

You need blessers not baggages

You need thinkers and strategers

You need CORRECTORS…. If you have one in your pack, thank God because that is a true relationship. One that will ask you why you no longer attend fellowship,  why you have some funny insults “words ” popping out of your (mouth)  👄  why?  Why?  Why? In short have a NATHAN in your pack..

Don’t rush anything just let God work things for your good.. (Everything worketh for good to those who love the lord) It’s not being proud, it is just knowing who you are and what you deserve.

In conclusion never be obliged to hold to a relationship that has run its cause. Loosing a friend can be very excruciating at times but you have to let Go… It’s probably God’s way of keeping you safe. Trying to resurrect a relationship  is like pouring water on a seed that has been planted on sand… Trust me.. It will never grow!  It is essential to recognise proverbs 13:20 that says Walk with the wise and become wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. #Truth.

Hang in the valley.

So today I got to share with my girlfriend and she shares deeply of how she is going through a tough moment in her life and she can’t handle it anymore.. Listening to her I think around how many of us including I who have gone or is going through a tough time in their lives and can’t handle it at some point and how we have handled it.

 

You see,listening to her reminds me of times we have laughed together, cried together and I realised that God has always stood out in each of the moments.

Here is the thing, there are times you will go through the valley and find life meaningless. Maybe you go through a divorce, or a breakup or you loose a loved one etc and you have no reason to smile.  I’m glad that when the Psalmist say: That even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil…… You know what this means, that in that valley there is plenty of light that is why you are walking through the shadow because for there to be a shadow there must be light. This means that in that valley moment God is watching over you.

I have realised that as long as I wake up every morning, I am in a battlefield and life is that battlefield. Just the other day my friend shared that it is in the battlefield where God will fight for you. You need to fight through until you are a remnant. In that tough moment Jesus will always be there with you.

 

You see when Shadrack,  Misheck and Abednego were thrown into the furnace that was a valley and the fourth man Jesus stood by them and came to their rescue.  Remember when Moses was asked to lead the children of Israel and at times he couldn’t find meaning on him leading the stubborn Israelites, God still remained very close to him. Remember the woman with the issue of blood for 12 years she didn’t know that after the many years in the valley, Jesus would come through for her.

Child of God trust him in that season of your life because you never know what he is preparing you for.. Trust that whatever good work he began in you he will be faithful enough to bring it into an accomplishment.

Your attitude in that time of the valley will determine whether people are proud of you or not.

Just hang in that valley because a break through is awaiting you and so I choose to remain and hang in there because He who began the good work will accomplish it.

Proofs of Christianity..There is a God!

You have ever asked yourself what is your belief? Here is something very educative I came across in the course of the week.

I’m proud to believe in Jesus Christ who died on the cross for my sins.im glad that my parents brought me up in the knowledge of Christ and I’m sure most of you are.

TRUTH IS:

To arrive at the believe there is no God,men must suppress the truth of which they are intuitively aware, as well as that to which nature bears witness. A person taking such a position as the Psalmist says, “hath left off to be wise and to do good” psalms 36:3.. Or to put it plainly, the fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. (14:1) , The wise man of old correctly declared: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (proverbs 9:10).

Belief in God is not irrational,but it does at times go beyond reason and requires faith. One doesn’t arrive at a belief in the existence of God through reason alone. In fact,since the fall of man, unaided human reason can’t comprehend the truths of God. Paul writes:”But the natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him,neither can he know them,because they are spiritually discerned. 1Corinthians 2:14.

It takes the help of the spirit for one to know God. Recognizing this,Jesus on one occasion prayed : “I thank the, O father, Lord of heaven and earth ,because thou has hid this things from the wise and prudent and has revealed them into babes” (Mathew 11:25). This is humbling to the man who wishes to take undue pride in his INTELLECT,but it is glorifying to God. That of course,is the very reason God planned it all as He did.

Mirror on the cross

Happy mid month!! The year is almost coming to an end..time is really moving fast. Tonight i feel like i wanna share something about you and i and how you view yourself as a christian. Every day you wake up you probably look at your image in the mirror, probably to fix your tie, suit, put on make up among other things but one thing i have realised is that you will never look at a mirror and see somebody else face: maybe your friend, your role model….the list could go on and on.Something else is that  you will never leave your image on that mirror once you have left..(that’s only in the movies)..  it will always be you on that mirror…

At times you look into that mirror and maybe at times you hate the person you see or the mistakes the person on the mirror has made and something whispers to you..who are you? why did you? how could you? but today i just realised that there is something deeper than just looking into that mirror and blaming and condemning yourself..You see Romans 8:1 says that there is no more condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus… with this we need to see ourselves not in our own capacity but through Jesus who died for us.. The Bible also records in Galatians 2;20 that its not me who live but Christ who lives in me in that if i see myself in Him then life will be better my friend. This means that He is able to carry your past sins, your past humiliations among others. learn to see yourself in the favor of He who created you.

The message of the cross is enough to save human kind.
